POA

This is a rare artist’s proof: one of the ‘test’ prints before production begins.

It is signed by Allin Braund and dated 1953, which is one year before Allin’s work was chosen by The British Council of Visual Arts, to represent Britain alongside Henry Moore, Francis Bacon, Lucian Freud and Ben Nicholson at the Venice Biennial.

This particular work is in the collection of the British Council of Visual Arts.

After the War repairs to buildings, including churches, would have been a common sight, one which Braund found interesting as he was also a sculptor.
