It’s a big thing as an amateur artist to finally say ‘yes I am proud of what I have created and it’s worth framing’. All artists both amateur and professional continually question themselves and their talent- unfortunately, the self-doubt never seems to stop, but perhaps that is due to the fact that we are continually pushing ourselves to be better. Framing a finished piece and putting it on a wall for all to see can be nerve racking because it feels like you are putting part of yourself on display for others to judge. Luckily, Wildwood’s art students are all supportive of one another and we were delighted for Sian when she finally had her work framed. We have been urging her to frame her work and display it for ages. The subject, her own family pet, was tricky because it isn’t just any dog, it’s a dog people know and trying to capture it’s character is incredibly difficult! So well done Sian for capturing the character and well done for finally realising that you are good enough!
