Cheri Hunston

Cheri Hunston, is a British artist, illustrator, writer, teacher, keen naturalist and founder of Wildwood Arts. she is based on Dartmoor National Park. It is Dartmoor, nature and stories which spark her imagination and leads her creative process.
Cheri’s fascination with the natural world, coupled with her academic studies of Victorian literature has culminated in her unique style, which draws principally upon Art Nouveau, the Arts and Crafts Movement and Victorian illustration.
Cheri creates magical pieces that evolve around a narrative and are usually character focused, as well as British wildlife, botanical, landscapes and maps. Her work is intricate and she has been described as a ‘miniaturist who paints big’.
She has exhibited with the Society of Graphic Fine Art in London and the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour. She is currently working on creating a nature book of Dartmoor and teaches weekly art classes at Wildwood Arts.
