Adrian Brough

Adrian lives in Lelant, near St Ives, Cornwall. He works in a barn, part of our home which historically was one of three farms in the village. All his pots are made on traditional Leach style kick wheels, he loves the rhythm they bring to the form and the control when making large pieces. He has two distinct styles, the first being intricately decorated high fired earthenware. The decoration style is drawn from his environment, and influenced by Portuguese and Asian styles, He is fascinated by the local marine life, fish feature strongly!
His second style is more traditional stoneware fired in a gas kiln using light reduction. All the materials in his stoneware pieces come out of the ground in Cornwall, and he also uses wood ash from his stove.
